For me, it's saladette-sized, bright orange with red flesh. I've grown it twice now and both times, the flavour was assertive without being sour, it has a lot of zing to it, but there's an underlying sweetness. I like them in salads primarily whether with other greens or with bocconcini and basil. I'd also describe it as a compact indeterminate or semi-determinate based on size alone, not necessarily node space. It grows to somewhere between 4-5 ft for me and doesn't require a lot of extra twine to keep it upright. Yields were moderate for me, never what I'd call heavy or sparse, somewhere in the middle. So you'll keep picking them daily during peak season, but you won't get overwhelmed.

I haven't grown it yet. Have it on my list for 2010 though.

My thoughts are dependent on having grown Juane Flamme only once, in 2006, and then only one plant. Very healthy plant. Made several multi-trusses with, if I remember correctly, 9 or 11 fruit per truss. One multi-truss had three trusses of 9 or 11 tomatoes each! I got a picture of that somewhere in my slow as molasses to load photobucket.
Beautiful fruit. Elogated saladette size globes, almost as big and about the shape of a pullet egg. Glowing gold, blemish free exterior and red/orange fruit walls inside. Two seed cells fairly full of gel and flavor. A rather unique after taste that I don't recall in any other tomato. Peculiar but not unappealing.
The only thing I don't like about Juane Flamme is the texture. Just a little too soft for me and turn mushy when fully ripe. Very similar to Sungella except Sungella doesn't have the interior red/orange color and Sungella has no flavor at all.
On that single plant in 2006, I crossed Sun Gold pollen onto one flower and got maybe 50 F1 seeds. I sent some to Australia and Grub grew them in winter of 2006/2007 and sent me F2 seeds which I never grew until last summer. I grew 3 plants and all 3 gave me fruit similar to Juane Flamme but not as prolific as either parent. But not as soft as Juane Flamme either and that's a good thing.
