If you took as much care in good photos as you do captioning the pics, we might be able to see the plants better.

Growing Buckets....yep, Been there.....However I still use this as a last ditch method, because Ive ran out of other Gardening space. Some Varietys just dont respond well to having their Roots compacted and some Buckets hold in alot of heat, and drainage can be a problem too. I have found that, the best way to grow in Buckets.....Is in the greenhouse during the winter months. Just my opinion, because what works in your area, is good for you, but Here, Buckets constrict somewhat. Good Post, and this can be a nice debate ....Im sure.
