Second year growing it. Last year was the RL version and this year the PL. Planted out 01 June, undressed a week later by hail, baked for first 2 1/2 weeks in July and still had the best fruit set, production and first to ripen. Excellent taste and no problem with disease. Grown in a 10 gal container. Ami Attachments:

This year I am growing both PL and RL version of Amazon Chocolate, as I got them from different sources. But I still don't know which one is suppose to be the 'right' one. So far I've only picked one fruit from the PL one and it is sitting on the counter waiting to be eaten. It is a fused fruit (it has four fruits fused together, but it isn't huge) from a megabloom and the color is just the same as the one on yours Ami. Beautiful photo

I think the PL version is supposed to be a correct one, but given the mixed leaf type results that people got, it is also likely that the original seed offered by CV Amishland was not stable or mixed up. We have small RLs, small PLs, and large PLs out there as 'Amazon Chocolate'. Tatiana

Ami, I would love to 'steal' your beautiful pictures of the PL Amazon Chocolate for the TOMATObase - I know you gave me permission to use any pictures you post, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Your fruits are absolutely gorgeous!
