I'm talking about somatic mutations on part of a plant.
This year I am seeing the occasional off type fruit on some of my growouts and I am wondering if the change will carry over. For instance in my grow outs of beefsteak x cherry, with the plants showing cherry fruits with perhaps 2-4 locules what looks like a much larger multi loculed beefsteak-like fruit will show up on the plant. I also had a heart show up on a finger paste x heart where all the other fruit were pointed plums.
Are these mutations of the dominant heterozygous alleles, or just non genetic developmental anomalies? They don't look like the result of fused blossoms.
I saved seeds separately from these aberrent fruit, but may only want to grow them out if the trait will be passed on.

Thanks Mulio, that was my gut feeling, but I thought I'd ask.
