Would it prevent private, custom tomato breeding and sharing of resulting seeds or plants?
If the answer is "yes," please reference the language in the bill that makes it so.

I have read the bill in its entirety, and find nothing that would hamper seed-saving. Most of the bill seems to be aimed at processing facilities. Of interest to me, was looking at a list of companies and groups opposing the bill, and I could not find a single seed company in opposition. Most of the orginizations favoring the bill were involved in the Food/Beverage industry, and consumer groups.
Most of the blog sites are taking the 'alarmist' approach with tons of "What-if" scenarios.
What discomforts me is that we are creating another bureaucracy to enforce the same rules that the USDA/FDA have NOT been enforcing for decades.

Thank you for examining the bill in its entirety and reporting no clause that would prohibit seed saving ... and hopefully none prohibiting sharing seeds we produce specifically for that purpose. This is not a Web site intended for spreading false alarm, and the Breeding Forum in particular shouldn't become a discussion area for issues unrelated to breeding tomatoes. So, I appreciate your effort to seek out the truth and nip disinformation in the bud. pv
