Btw I might add it will be getting down right cold next week. Starting Sunday night the low is forecast to be 11 and a hi Monday of 15.Tuesday night will be the worst with a low of only 5. I would expect wind chill factor to be about 0 or below 0 on Tuesday night. Bundle up good folks. Global warming? Humbug!!! Kevin

My in-laws live in NW Indiana just south of the Kankakee River in Lincoln township. I know from experience that Indiana doesn't do as well at snow removal as states like Ill and Wi.
Where I am is under a Blizzard warning. And as decent as Wi usually is at snow removal, the state has issued a "Do Not Travel" warning for the whole state. In my 61 years I have never heard something like that. Parts of I-94 near Minneappolis are closed / impassable.
We had an indoor farmers market in Madison on Saturday. The Sat before, we had had Friday nite snow and the roads TO Madison were horrible. By the time we went home thoo things were OK. The market was so-so as people slept in because of the roads. I wasn't looking forward to that again this weekend. Because the track of the store was so unpredictable, there was a good chance we could have had bad driving both ways or maybe only going home.
As it turned out, the beginning of the storm stayed just west of my route all day. Roads were actually dry til we got within about 15 miles of home. Then it was only light rain. After we got home the rain got quite heavy. We got about 3/4 in of rain before it turned to snow.
This morning we woke to at least 8 inches of snow and strong winds that are blowing it around. Trees are hanging heavy with the snow and there are some power outages around. So far the temps aren't too bad, in the 20s. But by morning it's supposed to be near zero.
The TV has just been showing the Metrodome in Minn that has colapsed. There goes the football game there. It has already been delayed due to the NY teem not being able to get into Minn. as the airport was closed most of the day Sat.
They got more than twice the snow we got. Bad all around the midwest today.
Good day to look at the seed catalogs and dream of the hot summer.

I heard that Carol. Seed catalogs hot chocolate or good coffee and some good Christmas music.
