You keep eatin' all that salty, fat laden crap followed by highly sugared desserts, and we won't have to worry about financing any raised beds ... you'll be in the ER for an extended visit! pv There is a bright side, though. My mammogram of last week was fine. My mother was Dx with breast canacer at age 82. I'm eating raw broccoli for dinner. I didn't get all of those things via UPS, just a couple of them. ;D And my total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides and a1c are OK as long as I take my meds and were just tested in Sept before the first cataract surgery. I had no problems with those at all until the diabetes appeared and I had no idea that they could go wacky with that Dx. Now let's get on with other off topic stuff, and you're right PV, I don't like ER's, I don't like OR's and after the Holidays I swear I'll do better. After all I did give up smoking on September 15th, not health related although it should have been, but b'c I'll be darned if I'll pay $8 a pack when I was getting them from the Seneca Indians for $24/carton. Besides, Craig still woks for Glaxo/Wellcome and has access to the company store and they make Nicorette gum. In the mini-second before I become PERFECT in all ways, I'll send out a bulletin proclaiming same. ;D Carolyn

Uh, don't I remember you saying "after the Holidays, I swear I'll do better" last year? Or was that 2008? Hmmmm. Maybe both years. Can't remember. CRS strikes again.

*Sigh* my old internet provider did something outside my skill set with email. I can still get there (for now) and ransack my old rolodex. S-o-o I sent of another email to Ronda Clark of CFI. I can't beleive she can't make use of another community gardening slave.
If community gardens are anything here, as they were in rustic cow-hampshire, the ones that're successful 1., have access to water. And, 2., are hidden behind something else. Making finding them through some kinda community organiser a must-do.
Untill I know how this new garden grows, bigger grow outs are going to remain on my far horizon.
Carolyn, on the off chance you might be feeling a bit house-bound on consultation with others at SCM-Froup, I was told you had already joined those forums. It might provide you yet another pulpit. I'm just sayin'.

Carolyn, on the off chance you might be feeling a bit house-bound on consultation with others at SCM-Froup, I was told you had already joined those forums. It might provide you yet another pulpit. I'm just sayin'. ******* What is SCM-Froup? I don't recognize it. The only message sites I usually visit and have now for many years are: DG GW Here idig Tville SSE message site And that's how they appear in my faves for one reason or another. And at one time or another a couple of them are pretty much dead. I don't need a pulpit at all. I go here and there and if there's a question I can help with or if it's an off topic Forum thread that interests me then I may post. It's true that I don't like being housebound so long, but I've got hundreds of books to read, and I get several archaeology magazines which I love and I'm always up for looking at the foodie magazine/ catalogs that come, and watching the wildlife in the backyard and the fields now that the leaves are off the trees can be interesting, as well as watching and IDing the birdies that frequesnt the many feeders seen from my living room. Then there's music to listen to ( usually my fave Sirius stations) and certain TV shows that I can and do watch from time to time as well. And this is the fifth winter I've had to stay housebound so by now I'm pretty much used to it. Tomorrow the car goes in the garage and Freda takes out the battery and brings it inside. And while I'm doing minimal packing of tomato seeds now for those who sent me seeds pretty soon I'll put up my free for a SASE offer at Tville and that takes LOTS of time. So what is SCM-Froup? Carolyn

So what is SCM-Froup? Carolyn SCM Froup: Soil Compost and Mulch Froup z15invisionfree.com/SCMFroup/index.phpThis has wandered around over a couple servers. This is a pretty chatty bunch of Disney-land 'banned from Gardenweb' orphans. More yak, and some gardening.

Carolyn, I'll agree T'ville and here have the most interesting writers. And no, I don't rise to interesting.
Yes I've noticed in myself if nothing else the need to at least talk about gardening being on the rise as the legs work less.
I've never been able to make Daves Garden work. Gardenweb looks more and more like an abandoned Detroit auto plant...

If so, Lordy, that's going back a few years and I think somewhere I had the then current addy for it, but no, I've never been a member there that I can recall. I may have peaked in years ago, but that was about it. Not my kind of site. Carolyn

not so much the few anymore! Carolyn will be next after associating with us! ;D I don't think so John. Actually I can't remember anyone being banned at Tville in quite a while now. A spammer or two, but that's about it. Although some question it, there is no guilt by association that I know of anywhere. But some of you folks have posted at message sites I never went to which led to a lot of discord, so I read on idig, with the result that this message site was formed. So let's keep things on the up and up and welcome here all who wish to come. And since it was Randy Gardner who gave me the link, I came. Carolyn

I agree with most of what you said and everyone is certainly welcome here.
