I am an herb nut and chickweed is one of my favorites. I needed something to exhibit in a January horticultural exhibit for my garden club a few years ago and a Northeaster had decimated everything - but a patch of the biggest, almost mutant sized chickweed that was thriving in an accidental motor oil dump behind the garage. I entered it under "Herb - Other" and won a blue ribbon. The judge said she was not familiar with it, but it was a beautiful specimen! The only person that recognized it was my garden partner and she has been calling me Chickweed ever since....and we are still laughing about it!

I always thought that it was a weed, but maybe I should try eating it ;D Of course I always use my name or initials or some combination as screen name, and the main thing is that it has to be unique.

I've really liked reading all the different reasons folks picked their names. Papavic is my favorite right now

Mine represents what is quite a rarity and somewhat of an anomaly in the "deep south"....a black vegan. ;D Not many of us around down here in Memphis; the land of bar-b-q and everything fried.
